This book focuses more on an anatomical look rather than resorting to a step by step “how-to” and is geared toward those who already have an understanding of the fundamentals of drawing in general, however facia knowledge contained within would be useful to any level of skill or practice.

I would love an expansion on the information and pictures in that section, particularly for the more subtle expressions like anxiety, worry or concern. You need to actually read the book. This is actually a super detailed, nuanced, and anatomy-focused drawing guide. I’ve copmlete this book recommended for two very different purposes, the intended one as art instruction, another as an aid in helping those with Asperger’s or high-functioning autism learn more about facial expressions.

Faigin is an extremely talented sketch artist and his drawings will teach you a lot, but the accompanying text is really what makes this book work. Thank you for your feedback. In part three, the basic facial forms from part two are combined to form the six basic human expressions – joy, sadness, anger, fear, disgust and surprise. I think carefully reading this book cover to cover will get you the most value, and I am working on that.

Previous reviewers mentioned this issue, but when I checked the previews, this appeared to be an issue only with the soft cover. This book takes an advanced look at the anatomy of the skull and face and ties it directly to it’s use in creating expression.
